What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a really natural state to be in, and we actually experience everyday trance when we find ourselves daydreaming or really absorbed in an activity.
Have you ever been reading a book or watching a movie and become so engrossed that you have been unaware of time passing, and been able to block out other sounds and goings-on in the background?
Hypnosis is experiencing this very absorbed and focused state, with the assistance of a hypnotherapist, often having the wonderful by-product of deep relaxation. Allowing the conscious mind, the analytical, critical and very busy part of the mind to take a break, while we tap into the subconscious mind, the storehouse, the filing cabinet and make those positive changes and suggestions. During this state, the mind is open to explore new ideas and harness other resources which you may never have thought to use consciously.
What can you expect during a hypnotherapy session?
Hypnotherapy is the use of this natural process to achieve something you want. It allows people to explore habits, beliefs and unhelpful behaviour, or perhaps release trauma or past events that may be holding them back.
During a session, I take time to get to know you and understand your unique experience and issue. We discuss the change you would like to achieve and the best approach for you. We spend time exploring what you want, what you enjoy, and how you want your life to be.
You then get the opportunity to be comfortable, relax back and experience hypnosis while I use all of the information gathered to move you in the direction you want to go.
